Petra Karmelić is an assistant at the Department of Sociology at the University of Zadar. She holds a master’s degree in sociology and English language and literature. She earned her master’s degree in sociology in 2023 at the University of Zadar by defending the thesis titled "Transphobia Against Feminism: A Sociological Analysis of TERF as a Reactionary Movement," supervised by Dr. Valerija Barada, which was awarded the prize for the best thesis. Her research interests include critical theories, feminist, postcolonial, and queer theories, with a methodological focus on qualitative methods. She has been actively involved in activism and educational work in the fields of reproductive justice, queer, and Marxist feminism.
