Pavao Parunov is a teaching and research assistant at the University of Zadar's Department of Sociology where he also earned an MA degree in sociology. Currently, he is teaching seminars and practical classes and contributes as a researcher to the department’s ongoing projects. As a PhD candidate on the postgraduate study programme „Sociology of regional and local development“, he is developing his thesis in the field of social policy analysis focusing on the state's role in gendering elderly care politics in Croatia. His research focus is developing as research on institutional contributions to social inequalities. As a junior researcher, he wants to ground his approach in the principle of sociology being an engaged science that contributes to discussions and advancements of social justice.
