Nensi Segarić is a senior lecturer at the Department of Sociology, University of Zadar. Having taught for several years in secondary schooling she began her research journey at the University of Zagreb’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences where she completed a Master’s degree course in social ecology. Her work continued in that vein and she aims to raise awareness about the degradation of the environment, encourage students to critically reflect on the conditions that have led to this and encourage students to be reflexive in order to promote sustainability in their future work. Apart from the Department of Sociology she also teaches at other university departments: teacher education, health studies, ecology, agronomy and aquaculture, with a focus on sociology of local communities, health, development, the environment and family.
